It may not be the ‘end of the road’ for some folks suffering from the catastrophic 8.9 earthquake and tsunami that hit Japan last Friday. It seems one of my favorite old school R&B groups Boyz II Men are urging fans and people around the world to donate to the people of Japan. They teamed up with FirstGiving.com and created a campaign goal to raise $100,000 in funds for the Japanese relief effort. They’ve already raised $8,000.00.
In a message posted on FirstGiving.com, Boyz II Men said:
“We, Boyz II Men, have a very special relationship with the people of Japan. We have been going to Japan for the past 20 years and we are deeply concerned for the people of Japan and especially for our friends and fans who reside in Sendai and all the areas affected by this earthquake and tsunami.
We can proudly say that Sendai is a beautiful city and we have performed there many times. In fact, we are planning to perform in Sendai in November of 2011 as part of our 20th Year Anniversary Tour.
Please join us in our effort to raise money through the Red Cross of America to help people in need.
We ask all of our fans across the world to join us as we attempt to do something meaningful.”
