SALES FIGURES: CHRIS BROWN HITS THE #1 SPOT WITH JENNIFER HUDSON & BOBBY V FOLLOWING

Last week was a big week for R&B, and the numbers are officially in. Chris Brown has grabbed the #1 spot with his new album F.A.M.E, landing his first #1 on the Billboard 200. He outsold his nearest competitor, Jennifer Hudson’s I Remember Me by more than a 100k copies.

F.A.M.E sold over 273k at retail, which is more than a 150% increase in sales from the 102k that his previous LP, Graffiti, sold in December 2009.

Jennifer Hudson’s I Remember Me didn’t make quite the splash that her last album did. The record entered the chart at #2 with 167k units sold. Still a decent premiere, without any big singles pushing it. Her self-titled debut also premiered in the #2 position, but sold 217k.

Rounding out the top 10 was Bobby V’s Fly On The Wall with 87k at #9. Also a fairly decent debut.

Which was your favorite release of the week?
