JOHNNY GILL – STILL WINNING (ALBUM COVER & TRACKLISTING)

By

Veteran R&B crooner Johnny Gill suits up on the cover of his six solo album, Still Winning, his first in 15 years. The album, which is led by first single “In The Mood,” features production from Troy Taylor, Bryan Michael Cox, Wyclef Jean and more.

With over 30 years in the game, including several platinum hits and awards, Gill recently told Singersroom that he just remains true to himself.

I don’t know if I have a formula. I just know most importantly I have to do and be me. One of the things I have been battling with while recording this record is [that] I like so many types of music but you think I know what people are going to expect and what they want. All this is put into a place and then somebody said to me “you have to do you and where you are today that is what it is.” That is what people are going to gravitate and connect with. If you want to do something a little bit more different than what you have done in the past, you just have to speak to a truth of what you’re doing. Everybody else will be able to connect to it.

Still Winning will hit stores & online October 11th.

The song, In the Mood, is suppose to be the featured/favorite one on the CD.
However, if you listen to the entire CD, all of the songs are great.
Songs #9 and #10, beat out the featured song, #3.
When I listen to the CD (every day), I skip over #3 and start at #6-#10.
My Love, #10, should have been the featured song.

  2. Johnny Gill is the greatest singer of Soul and R & B new generation (just 45 years is still very young). His voice is incredibly powerful (has 4 octaves and is able to lower it in falsetto, Johnny Gill is a great and legendary singer, much better than Luther Vandross, Marvin Gaye and the level). Johnny Gill in 1990 with the song “My, My My” deserved to win # 5 Emmy Awards, and so absurd did not win an Emmy Award either. His latest CD “Still Winning” is very beautiful the most beautiful of the kind R & B CDs of the year. Along with talented Johnny Gill, insert the extraordinary and exceptional singer, Jazz, Soul and R & B Mario Biondi, who is as good as the great and legendary Lou Rawls, Barry White and Isaac Hayes better than.
I remember that year 2012 is very difficult to make good music and great Johnny Gill and Mario Biondi succeed. I remember my favorite singers are the world’s # 1 George Benson and Al Jarreau, followed by the great and legendary Johnny Gill, Mario Biondi, Lou Rawls, Barry White, the world’s greatest tenor Mario Del Monaco and Wayne Shorter
