Melanie Fiona helped celebrate the memory of Michael Jackson by lending her voice to the hand and footprint ceremony honoring the late pop legend at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood on Thursday (Jan. 26).
The Canadian songbird performed an acoustic rendition of the Jackson 5 classic “I’ll Be There,” as the Jackson family, including mother Katherine and Michael’s children Prince, Paris, and Blanket, looked on. Quincy Jones, Smokey Robinson, Chris Tucker, and Justin Bieber also paid tribute to the King of Pop.
“I am at a complete loss of words. Overwhelmed and completely honoured. Cheers to the King of Pop #MichaelJackson xo,” tweeted Melanie, who will release her sophomore album The MF Life on May 8.
