Well, ain’t this a kick in the heart of many Ashanti fans. It currently appears that the so-called “comeback” album for the singer, has been reconsidered, with news of a major pushback to early 2013!
The “Braveheart” album, in which Ashanti formed her own independent label, Written Entertainment, to release the project, has already seen a couple pushbacks, normal ones in most industry peoples eyes, but in a newly changed release date, according to Amazon, it appears her team might be headed back to the drawing board, maybe even the studio…
Originally due in April, then June, and more recently August, the set has now been listed as a January 1, 2013 release. The first single “The Woman You Love” featuring Busta Rhymes failed to ignite much attention and has fizzled out quickly. With numerous big name producers contributing to the album, and some big name guests like R. Kelly, it seemed like we would be getting a new club banger or breakup anthem soon. However, the ??? are now out on the status of the album and Ashanti herself. The fact is this date could just be a safety net as new plans are being decided, but we will have to wait and see…
What do you think?
In all honesty, “The Woman You love” was a good record. I think it’s just that she does not a co-sign behind her like she has in the past. I think she needs somebody current to get on a dope record with her. Like for instance “Game’s” song “Soft Rhodes” would have made a great “Ashanti” record. It is smooth enough to go over well, and it sound like that Hip-Hop/R&B Ashanti that we all fell in love with in the early 2000’s. It seems like she with some of the songs that she has done especially on that last album, they did not sound like “Ashanti”. She needs to go back to what has worked possible. Get somebody current, but not over exposed. I mean we saw what happened to Brandy “Put It Down” is really not around especially with Chris Brown on there. He is an example of over exposed. I am still rooting, but she gotta go back to what worked. Also this is a different game, you really can’t just put out an album. You gotta work more than just a single. You have got to work several.
its hard when someone else made you
