With a completely sold out, packed house at SOB’s K. Michelle entertained with her emotional and heartfelt performance on Thursday night. In addition to her catalog the R&B songstress paid tribute to some of the female artists that inspired her.
K first gave a shout to Keyshia Cole, who many like to compare her to and try to create a beef with, letting KC know that “real recognize real” before she shared some very kind words for Monica.
“Mrs. Monica, one of the first ladies in the music industry to kind of reach out to me and tell me, you got it, don’t let these mothaf***** f**k with you,” shared K. “I respect her so much because she came to me…it’s like God always sends you an angel or sends you somebody that you looked up to as a little girl or something when you feel like it’s f**k up out here…she is a woman that I look up to dearly.”
