A deal which was first rumored toward the end of last year, buzz worthy breakout star The Weeknd officially confirmed his XO label have secured a deal with Universal Republic. As the first release in the venture the alternative singer-songwriter will release Trilogy on November 13. An album featuring mixed and mastered versions of popular songs off his critically acclaimed mixtapes “House of Balloons,” “Thursday” and “Echoes of Silence.”
Additionally, unreleased material will be included on the album, with “Wicked Games” serving as the first official release.
The Weeknd also known as Abel Tesfaye will kick off a fall tour on September 21 in Chicago, with shows scheduled for Hollywood, Miami, Atlanta, New York, and his hometown of Toronto on November 2 and 3.
