This past week Melanie Fiona paid a visit to Park City, Utah for the annual Sundance Film Festival. The R&B songstress was a special performer for the ASCAP lounge, and on the red carpet she spoke briefly with Vibe TV about her journey and next album. Melanie plans to return to some of her favorite collaborators such as Andrea Martin and Jack Splash, along with hitmaking producer/musician Jerry Wonda.
She is looking to try a slightly different approach with new music right now, “I think the approach this time is a very organic place,” explained Mel. “I feel like I want to write all my songs on piano and guitar, and build it into whatever it’s gonna be. I’m much more in a singer-songwriter place right now.”
