Tyrese, who is nominated for ‘R&B Album of The Year’ for Open Invitation at the 55th Annual Grammy Awards shared some news about his next album, while on the red carpet at Clive Davis’ Pre-Grammy gala on Saturday night.
While continuing the independent path, the multi-talented star, along with producer Eric Hudson, revealed they recorded 146 songs (146!!), in a 34 days earlier this year at a rented house in Arizona. Tyrese’s ‘R&B bootcamp’ consisted of 19 producers and writers all under one roof with a combined goal of creating his next album, Black Rose (which won’t be released until 2014). That’s amazing!
“This is the way music is supposed to be done,” explained Tyrese. “Producers these days are lazy, making tracks, sending emails. When you make music under the same roof, with the same artist that you’re working with, everybody’s praying together, eating together, laughing together, it’s a different kind of nuance that’s created around music. We feel really confident about it, and we can’t wait to share it with the world.”
