Producer Danja Talks ‘Black Music’ & Progression of R&B

By

Platinum producer, Nate “Danja” Hills, has dominated the pop charts and made his contributions to changing the sound of music for almost a decade. The Virginia native has been behind hits for everyone from Justin Timberlake, Usher and Chris Brown to Britney Spears and Madonna.

In a recent interview with TheUrbanDaily.com, Hills spoke about what he considers to be “Black Music” nowadays, and the progression of R&B.

“Music is more of a language and anybody of any color can express how they feel. R&B is still something totally different from dance,” he explains. “I think nowadays everybody has their own identity and freedom to express music the way they want to. We mix a lot of genres and made a [way] for everyone to collaborate. “
