Beyoncé embraces her past but lives for now in her brand new Pepsi commercial. The Pop diva, who signed a very lucrative $50 Million deal with the beverage brand, works up a sweat in the new visual, and battles past versions of herself. Bey is seen in a dance studio surrounded by mirrors, as reflections of her previous looks from throughout her career pop up to challenge her, but Mrs. Carter is stronger than ever and defeats them all with her fierce new dance moves.
A brand new song, titled “Grown Woman” acts as the soundtrack to the TV spot, rumored to be her upcoming single. The record features strong, empowerment based lyrics, with an uptempo marching beat track produced by Timbaland. At the end Bey states, “Embrace your past, but live for now.”
The Jake Nava-directed ad is part of Pepsi’s “Live for Now” global campaign, which encourages fans to embrace the NOW. “I had so much fun collaborating on this campaign with Pepsi,” said Beyoncé. “I got to re-live some of my favorite past characters and looks. It was the first time I saw those costumes in years and it was very emotional. I’m proud of those moments and they all connect in some way and have helped me evolve into who I am today.”
