Usher used his star power for a positive cause on Wednesday night. The R&B superstar joined his fellow ‘The Voice’ coach Blake Shelton in helping to raise money to rebuild Moore, Oklahoma, following the devastating tornado that ravaged much of the community.
The one-hour ‘Healing In The Heartland’ benefit concert held in Oklahoma City’s Chesapeake Energy Arena was organized by Shelton and aired on multiple national television networks Wednesday night. The special show included performances from many of country music’s biggest artists including Luke Bryan, Reba McEntire, Miranda Lambert, Rascal Flatts and more. Fellow Oklahoman and OneRepublic frontman Ryan Tedder appeared sans his band on “Counting Stars,” one of the more upbeat tunes of the evening. All of the musicians urged viewers to donate to United Way’s tornado relief fund by texting, calling or visiting the organization’s Facebook page.
Usher and Blake, performed the only duet of the night, singing a moving rendition of Michael Buble’s “Home.” Watch their performance below:
