Donell Jones is back on the scene with his new single “Forever.” The heartfelt ballad is also the title track of of his forthcoming sixth studio album. The R&B veteran has finally revealed the official album cover, and announced the LP will hit stores on July 9.
Now, as an independent artist, Donell has signed a joint venture deal between his company Candyman Music and eOne Music to release the follow-up to 2010’s Lyrics.
The single, “Forever,” is already Top 20 at Urban AC radio and still growing. Watch the video here.
Donell’s debut album, My Heart, featured his fantastic cover of Stevie Wonder’s “Knocks Me Off My Feet,” but it was the release of his second album, the Platinum-selling Where I Wanna Be, when people really took notice. The album’s title track reached #2 on the Hot R&B/Hip Hop Chart, and his collaboration with Lisa “Left-Eye” Lopez, “U Know What’s Up,” topped that same chart. His next album, Life Goes On, went Gold, while Journey of a Gemini debuted at #1 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums Chart.
