Now that Mario is officially back with the hot single “Somebody Else,” the R&B vocalist has been hitting the promo trail, and while in NYC he paid a visit to Hot 97 for a morning show interview with Peter Rosenberg and Cipha Sounds.
During the 25-minute chat, Mario spoke about the state of R&B music, in regards to how it is evolving and who’s helping push the needle forward. He spoke about first being signed by Clive Davis at 14/15 and his early life in Baltimore, the day-in-the-life series he released about his mothers trouble with addiction.
Mario revealed he spent close to a year celibate as an experiment in spirituality, and how it positively effected his perspective on the mind and body. He also shared some details about features he’s waiting to obtain for his forthcoming album.
