Mary J. Blige is planning for a big holiday season this year. Last month, we reported that the R&B Queen was prepping her first holiday album entitled ‘A Mary Christmas.’ Today, MJB has revealed the official cover of the project, which features her wearing a white fur coat with a hood, standing in front of a tree covered in snow.
‘A Mary Christmas,’ will be released in October via Matriarch/Verve/Interscope Records. Blige worked with Grammy Award-winning producer David Foster to craft the LP, which will features soulful renditions of classic holiday tunes. It is also expected to include some special duets with the likes of Jennifer Lopez, Marc Anthony, and even Barbra Streisand, on a jazzy version of “When You Wish Upon a Star.”
Also this fall, you can catch Mary starring in the upcoming holiday film Black Nativity, alongside Jennifer Hudson, Tyrese, Forest Whitaker and more.
In addition to the X-Mas album, Mary has begun work on her next album, which will no longer be the sequel to ‘My Life II,‘ it is expected to be released in 2014.
