The first spin-off season of TV One’s hit reality series “R&B Divas” premiered on Wednesday night. The show has now jumped to the west coast for the Los Angeles version of the series, which surrounds the lives, both personal and business, of female R&B singers, who were once at the top of the game, but have not sustained a strong mainstream presence.
After two seasons of Atlanta, the new L.A. cast includes Kelly Price, Lil Mo, Dawn Robinson (of En Vogue), Claudette Ortiz, Michel’le & Chante Moore. The eight episode season will follow the six ladies as they seek to individually and collectively re-establish themselves in the limelight with new deals, new drama and new directions for their careers, and their lives.
The show will focus on their collective project of creating a musical monologue entitled ‘Not Your Mommas Monologue,’ along with focusing on their own personal dramas at home and with family, while returning to music.
