Following our report on Robin Thicke, Pharrell and T.I.’s filings to request a judge to stop any future proceedings of legal action against them over their mega hit “Blurred Lines,” Marvin Gaye’s son, MG III, has sent a video to TMZ, strongly insinuating his plans to respond with a lawsuit over copyright infringement.
Marvin Gaye III basically said Thicke has disrespected the Gaye family by shamelessly lifting his father’s famous tunes for the hit song, plus other Thicke tracks.
Thicke and his collaborators filed preemptive precaution paperwork against Marvin Gaye’s family and Bridgeport Music, which owns some Funkadelic compositions, asking a judge to determine their song does not copy songs composed by Gaye and George Clinton.
Marvin III says Thicke’s lawsuit is a total slap in the face.
Do you think Marvin Gaye III has a case to go after Thicke, or is he just hoping to see $$$, or has this whole thing started to snowball out of proportion??
