Bruno Mars is on a short break from his very successful “Moonshine Jungle World Tour,” selling out arenas across the country, but he may be gearing up to play for his largest audience yet. The Pop star will reportedly perform at next year’s Super Bowl halftime show.
UPDATE: Bruno has confirmed his performance with an official promo video…
According to the Los Angeles Times, Mars is expected to headline the Pepsi Halftime Show at Super Bowl XLVIII at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on February 2, 2014.
An official announcement could come as early as Sunday. An NFL spokesman would not confirm the report, but did joke that Janet Jackson and Miley Cyrus have been ruled out as performers.
Mars, whose sophomore album Unorthodox Jukebox has been certified platinum, wrapped the U.S. leg of his tour earlier this month and will head to Europe on Oct. 2.
