Usher will continue to foray into film as has joined on as an executive producer for an upcoming documentary entitled, Undroppable, which explores the dropout epidemic in the U.S. educational system.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Usher was introduced to the film by Justin Bieber’s manager Scooter Braun, who is also a producer on the project, along with Adam McKay, Sharon Chang, Alex Soros and John Powers Middleton. Usher and Braun have worked closely together launching the career of Bieber.
“I knew Usher was very passionate about the issue of education, so I felt this was a great project to bring him into. His expertise will be invaluable as we continue this film and movement,” said Braun.
A social media campaign has been launched to coincide with the film. The campaign allows students to speak out in video form about the issues they face in school.
Directed and written by Jason Pollock, the film will be completed this year and released in 2014.
