Mario finally returned this year with the new single “Somebody Else” featuring Nicki Minaj, which proved to be a strong comeback and success on the Billboard charts. As the R&B vocalist preps for the release of Evolve, his first album in 4 years, he recently performed an acoustic set for Rap-Up Sessions, live in L.A.
Accompanied by Trevor Wesley on keyboard, he started out with his biggest hit “Let Me Love You,” which topped the charts for nine consecutive weeks in 2005. With the Sunset Strip in the background, Mario thrilled with a stripped down version of the Polow Da Don-produced single “Somebody Else,” and then capped it off with his new ballad “Fatal Distraction.”
Evolve has been pushed back again, now till early 2014. Check out Mario’s smooth set below!
Probably one of my favorite artist. Still underrated after all these years.
