Stunning beauty and soon-to-be married songstress, Ciara, is fed up with the blogger drama. With the days of the internet ruling the world being at the forefront, it’s hard to keep your privacy as a member of the industry’s elite. From your personal life to your professional career, nothing is kept off limits when it comes to the stars.
Falling in line with other artists and celebrities, Ciara chose to pen a letter to fans and bloggers alike and let them know how she feels. Obviously no newcomer to ridicule or chastising in the media, the R&B vixen has just come to her whits end with what most would call cyber-bullying.
In the letter titled, “What Is Social Media Coming To?”, Cici states that she once enjoyed visiting many of the blog/websites to stay update to date on the interesting stories that were happening. Due to the heightened amount of slanderous blog posts being drafted up about many of today’s hottest stars, she says that she does her best to stay away from the headlines. Other artists, such as Beyoncé, have previously claimed to do the same in order to remain sane.
It seems as if most social media sites have brought a bit of negativity upon stars no matter what it is that they do. Ciara also mentions the fact that negative comments are produced even on the most positive posts. Take Instagram for instance. How many of your favorite stars have posted breathtakingly gorgeous photos or shared some intimate family portraits only to be slandered and broken down by comments of followers? It’s truly becoming an epidemic.
The future Mrs. Cash goes on to say:
“I think to myself, ‘I could pick this person apart so bad but what for? Why act ugly like them?’ It honestly takes the fun out of it when people seem so miserable.”
Questioning the reasoning behind much of what they do, the “Goodies” singer says that she believes that those negative bloggers will truly get what they deserve.
With so many positive things happening in the personal lives of those that surround us, it’s hard to believe that there are still people who choose to find any way to place a negative spin on things. While some may argue that it’s what comes with being placed in the spotlight, the simple elementary rule should always be applied: do onto others as you would want done to you.
Regardless of who you are or what you do, it just seems as if you’ve gained any type of stardom, there will always be something negative said about you and how you choose to live. Ciara now states that she won’t be visiting the blogs moving forward. Writing, “Now, Off Blogs. Peaceful Mind. Living In My Happiness. Creativity Only.” We wish her the best as she journeys into a new chapter of life.
