Monica has been prepping for her much-anticipated eighth studio album after an eventful break. Not giving too much info on her approaching LP just yet, the singer has been teasing her fans with some exciting Instagram posts.
The vocalist has revealed two song titles from the forthcoming album, which is due out later this year. The first being named “Never Be” which contains the lyrics, “No matter where you take her/what you buy her/what you teach her/she will never be me” and the second is titled “Destination,” which includes the lyrics: “Growing up is hard to do/ Life can confuse you/ But if you always know the truth/ You can change your destination/ They tell you what you cant do/ you just have to show and prove/ There’s only one who/ Controls your DESTINATION.”
The first record sounds like it might be another admired single, fitting right in to the songstresses beloved catalog. As the wife of NBA player Shannon Brown, Monica forever handles such touchy subject with great self-assurance and self-confidence.
Just last year, the married mother of three was captured cooking up new material with R&B singer Miguel, as well caught on footage with hit maker and longtime collaborator Jermaine Durpi in the studio. The album is rumored to be a ‘back-to-the-root’ scheme, returning to her Miss Thang days.
