As we countdown the days until Pharrell releases his much anticipated sophomore album ‘G I R L,’ more details have been revealed about the forthcoming LP. After talking to Zane Lowe backstage at the BRIT Awards about the meaning behind the album’s title, Pharrell held a private listening session in the UK.
According to Ryan Bassil of Noisey, Pharrell said “Imagine if all of the talk show hosts in the world were women, all of the presidents were women … This album is dedicated to woman across the world,” before he pressed play on the album’s opening track, which is titled “Marilyn Monroe.”
The 11 track project includes all-star features from Justin Timberlake (“Brand New”), Miley Cyrus (“Come Get It”), Daft Punk (“Dust of Wind”) and Alicia Keys (“I Know Who You Are”).
Additionally, Pharrell is fittingly covering the latest issue of Billboard magazine, rocking the grey version of his now famous Vivienne Westwood hat. Last night, he announced an Ebay auction for the publicized headgear to raise money for charity.
