Janelle Monáe brought love and an all-out dance party to “American Idol” on Thursday night. Following an introduction from the “Idol” judges, the Electric Lady fueled the exciting evening with a Brazilian inspired performance of her groovy new song “What Is Love” off the soundtrack to the animated film Rio 2.
“Wow. we just performed @americanidol. Thank you to #rio & #brazil for being an inspiration for my song for #rio2!!” tweeted Janelle, who was joined by a team of dancers and musicians, while scenes from the movie played on the big screen behind them.
