This song will have you singing about an imaginary person and a non-existent anniversary! LOL.

Tony! Toni! Toné! was a R&B/Soul group from Oakland, California, popular during the late ’80s and early to mid-90s. The group was originally composed of Dwayne Wiggins on lead vocals and guitar, his brother Raphael Saadiq on lead vocals and bass, and their cousin Timothy Christian Riley on drums and keyboards.

“Anniversary” was released as the second single off the group’s double platinum 1993 Sons of Souls album. The song became a big hit for Tony! Toni! Toné!, peaking at No. 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 and at No. 2 on the Hot R&B Singles chart. It was certified gold by the RIAA. Music critic Robert Christgau named “Anniversary” the 13th best song of 1993. The song earned the group Grammy Award nominations for Best R&B Song and Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals in 1994. “Anniversary” is a classic romantic slow jam, a song of all seasons. It is most notable for its lavish vocal harmonies, violin, and the long instrumental break found on the extended version.
