August Alsina is making sure everyone knows that he’s here to stay and we’re not opposing his way of doing it.
Nabbing the cover of Rolling Out magazine, the 21-year-old New Orleans native is seen in a black and white jersey equipped with a red bucket hat and glasses. Captioned with “I’m the dude they don’t want to win,” the issue sees a young August discussing his life on the streets, journey to stardom and taking his own lane in the industry. The singer – who has made recent headlines with his debut album Testimony – stated, “The way the industry is set up, you have to be a certain type of person to win in the game. I’m 21 and it’s hard to build a legacy without footsteps to follow.”
Also talking about his experience selling crack, this is definitely one interview that you don’t want to miss.
Catch a few pictures from the DeWayne Rogers shoot after the jump and read the interview to its entirety here.
