Speculation and rumors have been swirling, but now it appears to be official…Kelly Rowland is off the market. The R&B singer reportedly tied the knot with her manager Tim Witherspoon in an intimate ceremony over the weekend.
Billboard has reported that inside sources confirmed to them that the wedding took place on Friday, May 9, in Costa Rica.
“It was a quick, simple ceremony—only around 30 people,” a source also told Us Weekly about the couple’s nuptials.
The 33-year-old singer was reportedly joined by Beyoncé, Solange and Tina Knowles for the big day. We now know that Bey and Solo took a private plane days after the drama that went down earlier last week following the Met Gala, where Solange physically attacked Jay Z in an elevator.
On Saturday morning, Beyoncé posted a photo on Instagram in what appeared to be a bridesmaids dress with the caption “GoodMorning.”
Kelly has remained quiet, but on Monday she stepped out to the opening night spring gala for the American Ballet Theatre in New York. She kept her hands in her pockets to avoid any potential ring shots.
Kelly was in Bulgaria when Witherspoon proposed to her on Skype last year. The couple kept their relationship private for years before she announced her engagement on “The Queen Latifah Show” in December.
“He put a ring on it,” said Kelly. “We’ve kept it very, very low—for years, to be completely honest.”
It has already been a very busy year for Rowland, who has begun working on the follow-up album to last year’s Talk A Good Game. Pharrell is among the collaborators committed to work on what will be her fifth album.
