When music fans talk about the greatest producers currently and of all time one name that is always brought up is Timothy “Timbaland” Mosley. Coming off another great year in 2013 and handling the role of executive producer for the new posthumous Michael Jackson album Xscape, Timbo the King is continuously building his legacy.
Now, the super-producer is planning to seize the moment with his long-awaited solo album. Talking to REVOLT, Timbaland announced his fourth album will be titled Opera Noir, which stands for black opera.
“It’s a culture thing. It’s the truth. It’s just about life in general. My life. My personal life, and I found myself as an artist and human being and as a man. I found who I am,” said Timbo.
While he has many famous friends, don’t expect many features on this project. “Me and my new artist, her name is V. Just me and her. And CeeLo. That’s it,” he said. “When [Opera Noir] comes out and you see the whole package, you’ll understand why. You’ll see it, and you’ll be like, ‘Wow, I’ve never seen nothing like this.’”
He has compared the album to his version of Dr. Dre’s 1992 classic The Chronic. “I finally made my Chronic,” he said.
