Kelly Rowland is paying respect to the worlds favorite game – fútbol. Joining the likes of Janelle Monae, Timabaland, Rita Ora and many more, Kelly has contributed a brand new song for the Beats of the Beautiful Game project.
Presented by Pepsi, the visual album celebrates soccer during this year’s World Cup. The LP is a collection of 11 anthem-like songs, which will hit shelves in the U.S. on June 10.
“I was immediately attracted to ‘The Game’ because I can identify with its theme of overcoming challenges and finding your voice. It’s a very important message and I’m honored to partner with Pepsi on a project that brings the worlds of music, sports and film together,” says Kelly Rowland. “As an artist – and a huge film and sports fan – it’s been an incredible experience.”
Last month, Janelle Monáe released the visual for the project’s lead single “Heroes.” Kelly’s new song will have a video directed by Spike Lee, coming soon.
In addition to new music, this has been a very special year for Rowland, who tied the knot with her boyfriend/manager Tim Witherspoon at a secret ceremony in Costa Rica last month.
