Throwback Thursday: Ruff Endz – “No More”

By

“No more shopping sprees / No more late night creeps,” Ahhhhh remember early 2000s R&B???

Ruff Endz is a R&B duo, consisting of members David “Davinch” Chance and Dante “Chi” Jordan. Originally part of a quartet, the two left the group in 1994 to form the duo. Named after their trouble finding a record deal, the group came up in West Baltimore.

“No More” was a single released on their debut Love Crimes album in 2000. The single peaked at No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100, and was their most significant hit. It also reached No. 1 on the R&B chart. Ruff Endz made breaking up sound good through their soulful vocal intensity. The group confronts both a lover’s infidelities and the loss of shared pleasures over a rhythmic pulse nice enough to make you feel like you are celebrating.

Like most ’90s and early 2000s R&B music videos, the video features the group dancing with backup dancers in different scenes. It also shows them setting up their significant others as they send them shopping with closed credit cards. Enjoy the video above!

awallens That was the jam I think end of 2000. Sadly, the rest of the album wasn’t that good.
