Alicia Keys has a new baby and a new album on the way.
While promoting Givenchy’s new fragrance Dahlia Divin at Macy’s in Manhattan on Tuesday, the R&B songstress spoke briefly to the Associated Press about the anticipated follow-up to her Grammy Award winning 2012 album Girl on Fire.
“What I know for a fact is it’s the best music I’ve ever done in my life yet and it’s really exciting to be able to have this kind of growth, this type of opportunity,” she said. “The music’s actually pretty much done already and so you’ll be hearing some of it soon.”
Among others, she has worked with Pharrell Williams on the forthcoming LP, and will help mentor his contestants on NBC’s “The Voice,” which premieres Monday.
“Alicia’s album is crazy. Harlem is gonna be real proud,” Pharrell told Angie Martinez earlier this year. “She’s getting ready to do something super next level. It supercedes anything that’s out.”
While Keys remained coy about a release date, she did reveal that she and husband Swizz Beatz are expecting their second child in December.
“December album? Well, I know one thing. I’m having a December baby,” said Keys, who knows the sex of the baby, but would not share it.
