Get ready, the real Queen is back!
On October 21, the legendary Aretha Franklin will release her new album Aretha Franklin Sings the Great Diva Classics, which features the R&B icon covering some of the most popular diva classics including Alicia Keys’ “No One,” Barbra Streisand’s “People,” and a mash-up of Gloria Gaynor’s “I Will Survive” and Destiny’s Child’s “Survivor.”
The first single from the project is a soaring remake of Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep,” which includes a fitting mash-up of “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough.”
Tonight, Aretha will perform the song on “Late Night with David Letterman.”
Take a listen to her soulful remake below, and let us know what you think??
You can pre-order the album on iTunes now.
I don’t like this at all they took the soul out of her vocals and she better be careful dealing with clive (evil) or she will end up like Whitney.
I love Aretha’s soulful cover of “Rolling in the Deep”. You have to listen to it a few times. She is singing her behind off. Long live the Queen of Soul.
