Drake has a knack for jumping on records and turning them into overnight smashes, which most recently happened when he remixed the underground hit “Club Goin’ Up on a Tuesday” by ILoveMakonnen. After singing him to his OVO Sound label, the duo come together for the official music video to the Metro Boomin & Sonny Digital-produced hit.
The Atlanta singer/rapper goes up with Drizzy and his OVO crew in a club, and shares his strange fascination with dolls. Women don masks, much like the ones that appear on his album artwork, while a smiling Makonnen sings the getting lit anthem.
In an interview with The FADER, Makonnen revealed that while awaiting a trial for an accidental shooting, he obtained a degree in cosmetology and dolled up mannequin heads in makeup and pink hair, with dreams of one day making his dolls famous. When his classmates mocked him, he told them, “I’m going to make these dolls famous. I’m going to take them all over the world.”
