2015 is shaping up to be a really great year! While the beginning of the month brought us the full return of sultry songstress Jazmine Sullivan, fans of another talented vocalist can soon rejoice as well.
Yes, that’s right. The self-proclaimed “Young Lioness” Teedra Moses will be releasing her first solo album in over 10 years! Set to serve as the follow-up to 2004’s critically acclaimed Complex Simplicity, the upcoming album, Cognac & Conversation, has been more than anticipated for years.
While fans haven’t had the chance to experience Teedra’s vocals on a full official album of her own since 2004, the singer has written for many of the industry’s most talented, and has released praiseworthy projects and features as well. Most recently releasing her mixtape California Vibes, it couldn’t be a more opportune time for the Lioness to bring us a full project.
Set to be released this spring via Shanachie Entertainment, Cognac & Conversation was stated by Moses to be “a continuation of the evolution of my music as I strive to reach new levels musically and professionally.” She then went on to say, “Cognac & Conversation is music that’s meant to be light-hearted at times while deep in other moments. It’s meant to be comforting and relatable but at the same time thought provoking and inspiring. The conversation and vibe could be with yourself, the home girls, or your lover.”
Led by the single “All I Ever Wanted” – which saw its release in the first quarter of 2014 – the upcoming album is sure to give Teedra the continued shine she deserves.
