As previously reported, Teedra Moses will be releasing her first official album in over a decade this year! Set to serve as the follow-up to 2004’s critically acclaimed Complex Simplicity, the upcoming album, Cognac & Conversation, has been more than anticipated for many years.
Following last December’s ‘California Vibes‘ EP, and the album’s first single “All I Ever Wanted,” the self-proclaimed “Young Lioness” has delivered the LP’s second release “Get It Right.”
An intensely smooth and soulful jam, Teedra delivers tantalizing mellow vibes with ease, as she states what she is willing and able to give to the right one.
“Rather be your queen than your bad bitch / ’cause since I had a queen you gon’ find a bad bitch / Fact is, love like mine you never find,” she coos.
“‘Get It Right’ is a vibe nostalgic to when I was a teenager, listening to Mary J sing effortlessly over soulful hip hop influenced tracks,” said Teedra. “It’s a vibe meant to comfort u and make u feel safe…the subject matter is relatable SUSTENANCE! It speaks from the soul not the ego. The honesty of it should resonate with people of substance. Def a track to ride to and clear ya head.”
Teedra’s much-anticipated new album is due out June 23 via Shanachie Entertainment.
