Tamar Braxton is finally prepping for the release of her anticipated next album, which is titled Calling All Lovers, earlier this week she premiered the new lead single “If I Don’t Have You.”
While promoting the single’s release the boisterous singer stopped by Atlanta’s V-103 for an interview with Big Tigger. During their chat, Tamar revealed her inspiration behind the album, and explained why she feels like she was born to make this body of work.
“Everything I’ve been through in my life was to write this album and put it together,” she said. “I know I went through a period where I didn’t know myself and I definitely didn’t love myself, and this album is about loving Yourself, loving the person that you’re with, being happy or not being happy, and just being honest about your feelings.”
Tamar continued to explain that in the past she wasn’t comfortable in her own skin, and feels bad past relationships contributed to her lack of self respect.
Calling All Lovers is scheduled to be released on July 31. Check out her interview below:
