This week we aren’t going back as far for our Throwback Thursday pick. The song, “I’m His Only Woman,” is a perfect duet between vocal powerhouses Jennifer Hudson and Fantasia, off J. Hud’s eponymous debut album. The ladies “took us to church” with their stunning vocals showing fans why they both had such successful runs with American Idol.
Almost as an ode to Shirley Brown’s “Woman To Woman, this song is Shirley Brown, Shirley Murdock, Betty Wright and Miki Howard all wrapped up into one great song. Fantasia confronts Jennifer Hudson on the track, informing her that they are sharing the same man. One can’t help but wonder why we haven’t seen more live performances of this powerhouse jam, and why it wasn’t a single.
