DJ Cassidy keeps the groove going with his new single “Future is Mine” featuring Chromeo.
Following his spectacular 2014 singles, “Calling All Hearts” and “Make The World Go Round,” the DJ/Producer continues to unite worlds on the dance floor, this time by joining electro funk duo Chromeo with iconic musicians from the late 1970s and early 1980s, including Rufus’ John “JR” Robinson and Bobby Watson, guitarist Wah Wah Watson, “Forget Me Nots” composer/vocalist Patrice Rushen, and Michael Jackson horn and string arranger Jerry Hey.
“From the moment I first heard Chromeo’s music years ago, I knew we shared similar sources of inspiration,” Cassidy explains. “As we became friends, they proved me right. Dave and Pee bring the funk to everything they touch. They literally took the groove to the future…pun intended.”
“We’ve known Cassidy for years now, so it’s only right that we jump on a joint with him,” says Chromeo. “Plus, he’s got all these legends playing on there…super humbling to be on the same track as our heroes. Cass is definitely on the funk crusade.”
