It’s that time of year where parents are boggled down with back to school shopping, kids are living their last weeks of freedom, and the working world is dreading the increased traffic that comes along with school beginning. For us good people over at ThisisRnB though, it’s nothing more but another month of solid R&B.
Whether you were here for Janet and J. Cole’s steamy remix to “No Sleeep” or clutching your pearls at Keri Hilson’s raunchy lyrics to “Scream,” there’s no denying that July brought ThisIsRnB listeners some pretty lovable and sultry singles. Bringing along with it new tunes from Bridget Kelly, CeeLo Green, an official single from Tory Lanez, and a new project from Sevyn Streeter, July really gave us a surprising set of tracks from different avenues of R&B.
While we know we can’t please every single person with our lists, we’re hoping that you find enjoyment in this one.
So without further adieu, grab your wine cooler, open your windows and get ready to be rocking all night long with our “Best of July – Top 15 Records” below!
Janet Jackson feat. J. Cole – No Sleeep (Album Version)
The moment we’ve all been waiting on came last month when Janet Jackson returned from her hiatus and gave us something new to rock to. Although the track was received well by fans, it was the “remix” and now official album version of the song featuring J. Cole that gave the track exactly what it needed.
Where is Miguel tho?
We love Miguel, but he didn’t release any new singles in July. This list only covers buzz records or singles.
Syven’s Ep is really really good.
