Early this year, Mario released the new single “Fireball,” which was a sort of comeback, buzz track to announce his forthcoming album, and first as an independent artist.
In June, producer Scott Storch revealed that he had signed Mario to his burgeoning new label, and they were working on his new album together. Today, we get to hear the first taste of their work with the brand new single “Forever” featuring Rick Ross.
The track feels very much like the sound we’ve come to know Mario for most recently, R&B strings with pop synths, accompanied by some heavy percussion. He’s not letting go of that, and he’s not letting go of his lady, as he sings about wanting an everlasting love.
“I want this forever, I want you forever,” he sings on the chorus, adding: “Stay here with me, baby / I just want to love you till you scream.”
Mario’s first album in six years is titled Never 2 Late, and it is scheduled to be released on November 27.
