After a slight miscue from his label, who posted the album on YouTube a day early, August Alsina has officially released his much-anticipated sophomore album This Thing Called Life.
The follow up to 2014’s Testimony continues with Alsina’s deep personal themes, inspired by his emotional plight caused by the struggles of becoming successful, questions on his life, and today’s troubled society. The introspective 15-song set includes the singles “Hip Hop,” “Song Cry,” and the Lil Wayne-assisted “Why I Do It.” Anthony Hamilton and Jadakiss appear on “Job,” while Chris Brown guests on “Been Around the World.”
