On Monday night (Dec. 19), the Empire State Building in New York City was literally lit with holiday cheer.
Pop music icon Mariah Carey teamed up with the Empire State Realty Trust, and renowned lighting designer Marc Brickman, to create a dancing light show to her classic holiday song, “All I Want For Christmas Is You.” The tower lights illuminated with color while the song was simulcast on iHeartRadio stations such as New York’s Z100, 103.5 KTU and 106.7 Lite FM.
Earlier in the month, Mariah helped kick off the holiday season by “flipping the switch” at a lighting ceremony in ESB’s famed Fifth Avenue lobby.
“I can see the Empire State Building from my apartment, and it is one of my favorite buildings in the world,” said Carey. “To have its iconic lights synched to my song is the perfect gift this holiday season.”
New Yorkers will be able to watch the show each night at 7 p.m. through December 25. Check out the official video of Monday night’s show below.
