Sunday night’s 59th Annual Grammy Awards were filled with unexpected collaborations, and one of the best pairings was Alicia Keys and breakout country music arist Maren Morris. The two singer-songwriters wowed the audience with a duet of “Once,” off Morris’ debut album, Hero, which was released last year.
In a shimmering and revealing outfit, Maren started the performance before Keys emerged in a sparkly, body-hugging, low-cut jumpsuit. Below elegant chandeliers and backed by a soulful live band, they performed a revamped version of the song.
As a 15-time Grammy winner, Keys joined the newcomer, who won her first gramophone this year. The country star’s “My Church” won her the Best Country Solo Performance trophy.
Keys latest album Here was released after this year’s Grammy submission deadline.
