August Alsina is 3 for 3. The New Orleans native returns with his third new song of the year, keeping the smooth R&B vibes going with “Lonely.”
Taking inspiration from the old school, August borrows from the classic Bobby Womack song “If You Think You’re Lonely Now,” for the break-up to make-up song, as he tries to rekindle a relationship.
“When I call your phone tonight, I better not have to call twice, girl,” he sings before delivering an ultimatum: “If you think you’re horny now / Come and let a real ni**a slide through girl.”
Alsina is prepping for the release of his third studio album on Def Jam Records. Last month, he released the title track “Drugs,” and the follow-up “Wait.”
