Fresh off the season finale of her E! docu-series “Mariah’s World,” Mariah Carey has released her brand new single “I Don’t” featuring YG.
The ’90s-inspired jam, produced by Jermaine Dupri and Bryan-Michael Cox, is a breakup anthem in the wake of the singer’s nixed engagement to billionaire James Packer.
An impassioned Carey sings: “We stole a moment in time / Gave you everything that you needed / I was even down to repeat it.” Later she borrows from Donell Jones’ classic single “Where I Wanna Be” on the chorus. “Cause when you love someone, you just don’t treat them bad,” sings Mariah.
Meanwhile, YG adds some West Coast flavor. “I know you love me / You just don’t trust me / You don’t understand me / But you love it when I call you Miss Carey,” he raps.
The music video for “I Don’t” has already been shot. Filmed at an opulent mansion with lavish chandeliers and a grand staircase, the teaser shows a shirtless YG in a black blazer and shades.
He later joins Mimi in a white Rolls-Royce Phantom. Clad in white lingerie and also a black S&M-inspired look, Mariah drapes herself over the hood of the rain-soaked car, with YG riding shotgun.
