Beyoncé and JAY Z hosted a festive, themed baby shower on Saturday (May 20), in honor of their soon-to-be born twin babies. The superstar couple celebrated with friends and family at the “Carter Push Party” in Beverly Hills.
Queen Bey’s mother, Tina Lawson, shared some video and photos from the star-studded event, which was designed with an African theme and held at a private residence that was once owned by Madonna. The A-list guests included Kelly Rowland, Michelle Williams, La La Anthony, Serena Williams and more.
Beyoncé showed off her gorgeous baby bump, which was painted with henna tattoos by an artist that was hired for the event. At the entrance of the home, gold balloon letters spelled out “Carter Push Party” and “Twinning.”
After the shower, an insider revealed to E! News details from the baby shower. “The party was very family friendly with Blue Ivy and lots of her friends running around the grounds of the estate. There was a huge tent erected on the property where most of the shower took place. The decor was African themed and very colorful with lounge seating areas, floor pillows and rugs on the floor.”
“The tables had lanterns, wooden elephants and pink and white roses for centerpieces. There was also a henna tattoo artist and African dancers and drummers walking around. A huge soul food buffet was served for a late lunch,” added the source.
The party was geared to both grown-ups and children, the outside bash being the pool party for kids, with lifeguards, pool rafts, a lemonade bar and other toys for the kids. There was also an inside set-up for the adults.
It’s unclear when Beyoncé is due to deliver the twins, but TMZ reported that her father, Mathew Knowles, said that the babies are more than two weeks away from their due date.
