Jhené Aiko is back with an easy, breezy new chune to uplift your senses for the weekend.
Soothing atmospheric synths, under light percussion, set a relaxing mood on “While We’re Young,” the songstress’ first solo release since last fall’s provocative “Maniac.”
Aiko delivers joy filled, emotional lyrics about a perfect love on the song, which is most likely dedicated to her boyfriend, rapper Big Sean.
“Baby while we’re young we should just have fun / We should just do whatever we want and tell everyone that we’re so in love with each other / That we found the one in one another,” she sings.
Continuing to address their never-ending romance Aiko adds, “It’s been another perfect day wit’cha / Wanna lay wit’cha, spend the night wit’cha / Spend my life wit’cha / All right, you know I’m down to ride.”
Premiering the song along with a music video, Jhené borrows from the movie 50 First Dates for the cinematic visuals. The singer plays a woman who suffers from short-term memory loss, and everyday has to fall in love with her boyfriend over and over again.
Aside from her highly-anticipated sophomore album, Aiko and Big Sean are working on their second release as the duo TWENTY88, which is expected to drop at some point this year.
