Making his late-night television debut, buzzing singer-songwriter Daniel Caesar commanded the spotlight on the latest installment of “The Late Late Show” and Apple Music’s “Up Next” segment.
Presented by Corden and Apple Music’s Zane Lowe, the Toronto native took the stage in a black and red leather jacket and matching red pants. Surrounded by a choir of women, he delivered his message to an ex.
Caesar started the soulful medley with “Get You” before seamlessly transitioning into “We Find Love,” two tracks off his upcoming debut album Freudian, which is due Aug. 25.
Lowe celebrated the upstart’s vocal dexterity. “It’s been amazing to witness Daniel Caesar’s journey up to this point,” he said. “He has one of the most exciting and tasteful voices in modern music.”
Caesar joins past “Up Next” artists including 6LACK, Sigrid, Mr. Eazi, and Khalid. Watch the performance below.
