When five time Grammy-Award winning singer, songwriter, producer Lalah Hathaway dropped her latest single, “I Can’t Wait,” we started counting down to the release of her new album. The energetic anthem quickly rose on the Billboard R&B charts. To accompany the single’s official video, which debuted in September, Lalah has taken “I Can’t Wait” to the next level with a brand new unplugged video. Accompanied by her keyboardist, Lynette Williams, the video provides a fresh, warm take on the high-energy dance single, offering Lalah’s raw vocals in a deeply intimate setting. Now fans we can look forward to November 3, when she will release her latest opus, honestly. Fresh off winning two Grammys for Best R&B Album for Lalah Hathaway Live, and Best Traditional R&B Performance for “Angel,” as well as an all-star collaboration with Pharrell Williams on the Hidden Figures soundtrack earlier this year, honestly invites listeners to the join the celebrated R&B artist on a personal journey that is intimate, disruptive and, most importantly, honest.
“My approach has always been to find and write great stories, which was a driving factor behind the creation of honestly” said Lalah. “This album is a collection of entirely new and original recordings that really express where I am at this moment in time.”
