After unveiling her spooky “Touch” video, Kehlani reunites with fellow Bay Area native Marc E. Bassy on “Made Love First,” a cut off the latter’s new album Gossip Columns.
Over a silky production, the Republic Records singer croons about how sex may have ruined a relationship. “I wish we didn’t make love first / You know that tore apart everything from the start,” he sings.
Baelani comes through on the second verse with similar sentiments and some raunchy lines. “Before you knew my heart, you knew the handles on my ass and thighs,” she sings. “Seen me with no makeup, with the sleepy still up in my eyes.”
Released on Friday, Gossip Columns features G-Eazy (“So Simple”), KYLE (“Plot Twist”), YG (“Westside”), and Hailee Steinfeld (“Plot Twist (Remix)”). In the past, Marc also collaborated with Lani on “Lock It Up” off 2014’s Only the Poets Mixtape (Vol. 1).
